Leadership Development
Developing good competent leaders is an essential building block in any organization. We can all tell stories of good and bad leaders. Derived from my policing experience, teaching leadership and lessons from the humanitarian field, I bring a different approach to leadership development.
We can ‘Google’ leadership styles and come up with hundreds of different ones, but I believe that leadership comes from within you. Using a mix of both theories, but importantly practical experience, I can deliver bespoke leadership programmes that stretch you and your team. Some examples are:
Operational Leadership – from basic supervisory skills, team building, emotional intelligence, people skills, managing difficult conversations, investigation skills and operational command training at the response level.
Managerial Leadership – leadership styles & emotional intelligence, change & performance management, effective communication skills, community engagement & empowerment, team building, chairing meetings, search & rescue coordination and event command.
Strategic Leadership – values-based leadership styles & traits, advanced negotiation for personality types, media strategy, family liaison, crisis & risk management, strategic collaboration & direction and ethical decision- making.
Community Engagement – helping you to re-engage with disillusioned communities to assist in the resolution of complex community disputes that help empower the community and foster better relations. This can also help in negotiating access to deliver humanitarian aid in challenging environments.
